In 1929, the silversmith Maurice Daurat designed a complete tableware service for Sèvres. With its understated lines, the service featured new forms, such as a cheese board, a pâté dish, a condiment dish, a ‘bon accueil’ plate and knife rests.
The first complete edition of the Daurat service was produced for David David-Weill, President of the Council of National Museums, in the early 1930s.
