Philippe Apeloig is a French graphic designer and typographer. He implemented the new visual identity of the Musée d’Orsay in 1985. He was a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome in 1993, where he practiced letter drawing, and then became the Artistic Director of the Musée du Louvre from 2003 to 2007. Among other works, he created the logos for the Musées de France and the signage for the Louvre Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Ateliers Jean Nouvel. In 2013, the Musée des Arts décoratifs dedicated a first major retrospective to him for his 30-year career.

In 2017, the Manufacture de Sèvres invited Philippe Apeloig to develop a series of compositions applied to the emblematic Diane service (1950). The first stage of this work was a series of drawings done in ink and watercolor, which the printing workshops then transposed, adapting them to each form.
