Kristin McKridy
A set of three glazed porcelain sculptures designed by the American artist Kristin McKirdy for Sèvres in 2012, decorated with high-fire glazes created especially for the artist by the Manufacture de Sèvres laboratory. Sèvres marks and the artist’s signature on the underside of each piece.
An art object made entirely by hand by our craftsmen in the workshops of the Manufacture. Shades and variations may appear from one piece to another, making each one almost unique.

As artist-in-residence at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres from 2008 to 2012, Kristin McKirdy revisited a genre in which almost every artist has tried their hand: the still life. A ceramist and art historian, she has drawn on the national ceramic collections and production workshops as multiple sources of inspiration, thereby exploring the infinite possibilities of ceramics.
A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), she furthered her knowledge of ceramics under the American artist Adrian Saxe. Her works reflect the various research projects she undertakes into the use of textures, colours and materials. Kristin McKirdy was awarded the Liliane Bettencourt Prix Pour l’intelligence de la main in 2009.
