Jules-Constant Peyre, modeler, sculptor, and designer at the Manufacture until 1871. The cup and saucer are wheel-thrown, the handle is molded and attached with slip. The Sèvres blue is applied in three layers with intermediate drying periods; each layer is spread and then evenly distributed using a badger-hair brush (a technique known as putoisage). The Sèvres blue is fired at 1,360°C. The lines are painted in gold. The friezes and the rosette are applied by transfer printing from engraved copper plates.
