Bleu de Sèvres

Deep or cloudy, Blue is the emblematic color of the Manufacture de Sèvres. Developed by the Manufacture's chemists around 1756, Bleu de Sèvres is a cobalt oxide blue applied in three successive layers using flat badger-hair brushes and with a unique historical technique of putoisage, which consists of gently dabbing the surface to allow for perfect homogeneity of the deposited material.
