Dessert plate from the Diane service with Tourbillon decoration in 24-carat gold imagined by the graphic designer Philippe Apeloig in 2017 for the Manufacture de Sèvres. Signature of the designer and Sèvres marks under the heel.
An art object made entirely by hand by our craftsmen in the workshops of the Manufacture. Nuances and variations may appear from one piece to another, making each one almost unique.
The Manufacture de Sèvres has invited Philippe Apeloig to create a series of designs for the iconic Diane tableware range. The first stage of this project involved a series of drawings in ink and watercolour, in which he developed three motifs – Tourbillon, Galaxie and Paille – based on typographical elements.
Philippe Apeloig’s design, as minimalist as it is complex, is structured around the interplay of solid and void, as well as the volume of the pieces in the Diane service. The designs are reproduced in gold on plain white porcelain or on porcelain saturated with the inimitable Sèvres blue.
